Herdwick Class is taught by Mrs Smith from Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and by Mrs Eddy on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.

Herdwick Class is the first step in the journey through Key Stage 2 at Staveley CE Primary School having transitioned from the infants. We continue to live out our school vision; with love and learning running throughout everything we do. Our mornings are packed with spellings, maths and English lessons. In English, we love to listen to stories and use them to inspire our own writing. We LOVE reading and have a wonderful reading corner full of books we can’t wait to read (if we haven’t already read them). In maths, we love to investigate and try new things; solving problems and working collaboratively. Our afternoons are filled with lessons focussed on finding out about the past, about the world we live in, how it works and about the technology we use everyday. We also love to be active and enjoy our PE sessions as well as many other opportunities to get out and explore the wonderful outdoors.
