Learnopoly - Community Action Learning Project
A couple of weeks ago, Year 5 were invited to take part in a game called Learnopoly. There was much chat on the playground about what would happen and lots of excited whisperings.
On the day, we walked down to the village hall and were greeted by many people from many different countries including; Italy, Spain, Belgium, France, China, Kuwait and Sweden, among others. Everyone was wondering what was going on and, sitting in the hall, we wondered who would speak first! We were introduced to everyone and asked if we recognised the team leaders flags. They were England, Sweden, Belgium and Slovakia. We got into our teams and the game began. The game was fast paced and we had to work quickly, listen carefully and cooperate with our team members. The challenges ranged from physical and creative activities to drama and writing. We had to complete challenges to move on to the next level of the huge board. We also needed to complete portal passes to move on.
To finish off the game we had to complete level 4. This was an activity where we had to retell a traditional tale and act it out to the rest of the groups. The group that won got to go back to school and show everyone else.
We all had a fantastic day and would like to thank the IMPACT team for such a great experience!
