Hawse End 2011 |
This week the Y4/5 are away at Hawse End outdoor centre. The connection is very variable but we'll do our best to keep you up to date with the week as it goes along. In the interests in E-Safety we will only publish what the children have done rather than any indication of what or where they will be. Please check back to see what they have been up to. 16.41: All arrived safe and sound. Sunny in Keswick!! Day 1: everyone has had a great day! Two of our three teams went out ghyll scrambling and came back wet but with smiles on their faces. Most of the pictures today were from group B, now renamed Bullseyes! They had lots of fun doing archery then problem solving. After dinner all the children went on a walk and scavenger hunt along the lake. As I am writing this the children are enjoying a drink and a piece of flapjack whilst Mrs Roberts is reading a story before bed. We're all looking forward to a quiet night!
Day 2: 9:00 a.m. we did have a good sleep (honestly, they were great) and after a very tasty breakfast the group are sat down for their morning briefing. It's a beautifully sunny day and all the children are looking forward to their activities.
12:30 Group B have just come back from Ghyll Scrambling. We had an awesome time sliding, jumping and crawling through the ghyll. Here's some photographs from the adventure:
1:00 p.m. Have a look at some of the pictures from group B's ghyll scrambling trip. They had an awesome time jumping, climbing and sliding in the water!
17:00 I have just put some pictures on of Group A on their canoe-rafting session on the lake. I think you can tell from the smiles on their faces how much they enjoyed themselves.
After a long, enjoyable day we all had a great evening session of activities. Following a tent erecting challenge the groups had a go at three round-robin activities: nature's palette, blindfold trail and damper bread twists on the campfire. We all ended up round the campfire with marshmallows to toast and hot chocolate (what else). Fingers crossed for another good weather day tomorrow, all's quiet here, everyone's sound asleep, except your roving reporter. Chief editor, Mr Cooper Wednesday 15th All safe and well this morning.
